Cire 001 is the first installment of automatic music created by the artist Eric Mayer. This music was created as an attempt to compose with no plan but rather the practice of making without thinking. This process was inspired by the artist Austin Osman Spare, Spare was known to allow himself to be a channel of creative energy, he used many different techniques to evoke the sort of self hipnotic state. Some of which being withholding sleep for days and drawing in the dark, to gazing at himself in the mirror until he fell into a trance state. While this music was not created in as extreme circumstances the idea of allowing oneself to concede to their creative natural state.
